Why Coaching, Why Us, Why Me?

Why Coaching?

Round Hill Coaching is a specialized service, and it’s not going to be for everyone.  We get into the nitty gritty of what’s holding you back, uncovering your blind-spots, setting real and achievable goals and then we set expectations – yes, I expect for you not to waste your money or my time, and get to work so you can live out your purpose and dreams while you have whatever time you have left on the planet!

Why Us?

In 2021, anyone can call themselves a ‘Coach’, but what does it really mean to have a coach, and what is the purpose of a coach.  I thought it might be helpful to give it some context here, so you can decide whether I am the right person to work with.

In my Book, the Little Professional P.I.N.K Book of Success, I advise young women to START out in their professional careers with a coach, and to seek out mentors!  Then, keep them for the rest of their lives!  Oprah Winfrey, Tiger Woods, Hillary Clinton, Serena Williams and many of our world’s top entertainers, sports figures, politicians etc. continue to have coaches for every…single….area….of….their….lives.   A coach is someone that can provide you with perspective, uncover and discover blind spots, provide you guidance, ask the right questions and be an accountability partner for you. In a nutshell, help you get to the next level in your life.

Why Me?

Erica Moore-Burton, Esq.

I am a licensed US Attorney that took a different path.  After studying Law & Business Studies in my home country; the United Kingdom, I made the bold move of moving to the United States of America in my 20s, with not much by way of resources, but with the key ingredient for any level of success to be attained, confidence.

After becoming a licensed attorney here in the US I decided that practicing law was not going to be my path and I decided on an ‘Alternative Legal Career’ in legal placement and consulting.  I was much happier helping those that loved the practice of law, rather than practicing myself.

For 17 years, I have worked with attorneys, advising them on the next steps in their career, assisting them in transitioning from their current law firm to a new law firm, law firm to in-house, transitioning back into the workforce after a leave, starting a new business, growing a new side business, motherhood and practicing, work-life balance, the list goes on.  I am the founder and President of Round Hill Search, Inc., one of the nation’s premier boutique legal search and consulting firms and I work with hundreds of lawyers every year.

I decided to finally start coaching lawyers this year and start the Colorful Conversations Podcast because I not only wanted to give back, but I also wanted to be able to provide a specialized service for those individuals that want more than just a 20-minute conversation, but need an accountability partner and advisor to help them make the necessary changes in their lives, so that they can be happier, more productive and more fulfilled on their journey.

It made sense to focus on lawyers, since I have been in the industry for so long and understand the challenges that lawyers face on a day-to-day basis.

More About Me

Before anything else, I am a wife to the most motivational, high energy, funny and charismatic man on the planet (Chappale Burton if you haven’t heard of him), mother to two ridiculously amazing children, and daughter to two doting parents that have given me so much in my life, and I would not be where I am without their sacrifices over the years.  In my spare time (which there isn’t much of) you will find me doting over my amazing family, supporting my aging parents, reading a self-development book, on a hike with friends, traveling (pre-Covid), or chatting on the phone with my very close support network of friends across the world. I like to think that I am a direct, honest, relatable, fun, hard-working, effervescent person that really has a passion for helping other people.
